Chapter Text

Pen pulled her hair back and took soft nibbles of the flesh between her earlobe and base of her throat before releasing her. He took her by the hand, and they went back to the room where he’d been holding her. Laura twisted her arm, trying to get Pen to loosen his grip and Pen just held her tighter, forcing her to lie on the bed before tying her hands and legs to the posts on the end of the bed at the top and bottom.

He silently pulled a hood over her head, putting her in total darkness. Pen held her arm with one large hand and with his other hand injected her with Ketamine, resulting in her instantly falling asleep. Pen growled, looking at her and trying to decide if she were going to be worth all this trouble. Tossing the used needle in the bucket, Pen turned out the lights and walked down the hall to his own bedroom.

One of his men would be taking her home instead. He couldn’t trust himself not to take advantage of her in spite of her protests. Plus, he would be seen with her, and he couldn’t risk it. Pen lay on his mattress, one hand tucked behind his head, lying naked on the crumpled sheets. The bunker was hot that night and he had a hard time going to sleep. He began thinking about her, thinking about the first time he saw her. Pen normally didn’t spend more than five minutes thinking about being with a woman but something about her was different.

Pen growled, wrapping his hand around his co*ck, his fingers massaging the length of his shaft, swirling around the base to the tip, increasing each stroke and imagined himself inside her, his hand pumped faster, his imagination f*cking her and his co*ck throbbed and he gritted his teeth, the org*sm spilling all over his stomach and Pen got up to go take a shower. The next day he was in the commander office, watching one of his men taking Laura out of the room to take her home.
Pen grinned and found himself wondering if she would indeed tell her wanted lawman about what happened, but he didn’t think so. He’d pretty much scared her enough where he’d be in control. Pen shut off the monitor and prepared to head back to Sandrock in a couple of days. He didn’t think it would be a good idea to show up immediately since she’d be back, and he didn’t want himself linked to her kidnapping.

Pen’s men rode thorough the desert in Eufaula, the lead man Sam carried the unconscious woman on the back of his horse as they headed toward Sandrock. It was getting dark, the perfect time to deliver her back and make their escape before she came to or before anyone saw a suspicious person hanging around.

Logan had searched the entire Outback for any signs of Laura and Justice had searched the Valley of Whispers. Logan started heading back to her shop to see if perchance he’d missed something.

Sam approached Laura’s workshop on the horse and as he rode by, pulled the woman wrapped in a sheet off the horse, aggressively depositing her on the ground and rode off before anyone saw him.

Laura’s body rolled on the ground, hitting the dirt and stirring up clouds of dirt and sand. She landed against the wooden frame of her front door and didn’t stir at all at the hard landing, where she lay and where Logan found her a few minutes later.

Logan saw a horse riding away from Laura’s shop and he tapped Rambo’s side to urge him into a run and when they reached the shop, Logan barely gave Rambo time to stop before jumping from his back and running to Laura. He scooped her up into his arms and ran for the clinic, running faster than he had ever run in his life.

Logan kicked the door to the clinic open with his foot, startling Fang who told him to lay Laura down on the bed. Logan gently lay her on the hospital bed and unwrapped the sheet from around her. He hadn’t had time to look at her before heading to the clinic, not wanting to waste precious time in case she was injured.

He gently pushed a lock of her hair from her eyes and Fang asked him to step aside. Logan stepped back, his hands resting on his hips and panted from the run but kept his eyes on Laura.

Fang examined Laura, first checking her eyes and saw they were reactive and responded to light. He then examined her jaw and her neck. Frowning, he noted the dark bruising on her throat and made note of it on the notepad in his hand. He went onto examining the rest of her and only saw a few scratches and bruises that was probably a result from whatever fall she took when Logan found her.

He would still need to examine her further to rule out internal injuries and broken bones. Fang could also tell she’d been given some sort of drug due to how her pupils reacted and the way she was breathing. Fang finally turned to Logan. “Hey, other than a few bruises and scratches, I don’t think she has any broken bones or other injuries, but I want to keep her here for a few days of observation. Umm, Logan can’t tell you what happened before you brought her here but she’s been drugged, and someone tried to strangle her. She has some bruising on her throat. Whomever took her probably intended her great harm but for some reason changed their mind and that’s probably why you found her like you did.” Fang clapped Logan on the shoulder, telling him not to stay too long and left Logan to visit with her while he began examining the DNA samples from her so he could establish a diagnosis.

Logan sat on the bed by Laura, taking her hand in his own and his other hand gently reached out, touching the bruises on her neck. He felt anger rising in his body. “I promise you darlin, I’ll find out who did this to you and they will pay for what they’ve done.” Logan sat with her for about an hour before he left, taking time to cover her up with the sheet and stopped to thank Fang for taking good care of her.

Logan went back to her workshop, and he proceeded to clean up the place. He wanted it to be clean when she came home so perhaps it would be a little less stressful if she weren’t reminded of what happened. He would stand guard of her when she came home so she’d be safe but also to see if whomever did this would show up again.

Justice knocked softly on the door that was open and stepped inside. “How is Laura doing Logan? I saw you taking her to the clinic and was worried she was really hurt or worse.”

Logan picked up the shards of broken ceramic and tossed them in a bucket next to the door. He frowned, looking up at Justice. “Someone tried to kill her Justice. She has bruising on her neck and Fang said she’d been drugged. I promise you Justice, I will find out who did this, and they will pay.” Logan growled, the muscles in his neck tensed and he made a fist with his right hand.

Justice nodded. “I understand man but let’s do it right. We’ll observe from a distance to see if they reveal themselves and when they do, we’ll arrest them. I promise Logan, they’ll do a lot of time for this.”

Logan nodded but didn’t feel much better. “Thank you. I just hope you’ll be able to pull me off him when I get a hold of him because I may not be able to stop myself from beating the crap out of him.”

A couple of days later Fang allowed Laura to go home, telling her to come back immediately if she felt any sort of aftereffects. Laura promised him she would and put her arms around Logan who held her close to him when he came to pick her up.

He kissed the top of her head and rubbed the base of her neck tenderly. “Let’s get you home.” Logan immediately scooped her up in his arms and grinned at her.

“You don’t think I’d let you walk do you?” I carried you here and that’s the way we’re going home.” He leaned his head toward her, kissing her softly as he made his way to the door.

“Thanks, Fang for taking such good care of her.” When they arrived at her workshop a few minutes later, Logan kicked the door open and carried her to the bed and lay her on top of the comforter. Sitting beside her, he reached out, tucking a strand of Strawberry Blonde hair behind her ear.

He smiled and rested both hands on either side of her head. “How are you feeling? Do you need anything at all?” Logan leaned forward and gently kissed her lips.

Laura’s eyes filled with tears, and she swiped at them with her manicured hand. “Can you please just hold me? I don’t want to be alone right now.”

Logan got up and walked around to the other side of the bed and stripped off his vest with cape and his shirt, then stripped off his pants to his boxers and laid down behind her. He pulled her into his arms, spooning her against him. He nuzzled her neck with his mouth and kissed her. “Of course, love, I’m here for you.” He whispered.
