With only your talents improving your Haste, you will need a total of 434 Haste Rating to reach the soft Haste cap. In a raiding environment, where you will have access to both the 3% and 5% Haste buffs, you will only need to aim for 154 Haste Rating to reach the soft cap.

Disc priest is very good, the qualifier being that you only really want one per raid. Holy paladins on the other hand are great to bring more than one of. I main a disc.

Discipline Priest Overview

Healing through dealing damage allows Discipline Priests to contribute to the raid's DPS while still performing well as a healer. Discipline Priests provide very significant, on-demand AoE burst healing on a very short cooldown.

Discipline Priest in Dragonflight is a masterful raid-wide burst healer with absorbs and damage reduction utility. They prepare for incoming damage by marking players with helpful buffs in Atonement that allow the Discipline Priest to deal substantial damage to the boss to create healing on those marked allies.

When leveling as a Discipline Priest, always target the gear with the highest item level available. Looking for specific stats on leveling gear will not matter, as you will most likely have a fairly large item level gap on items when you get another of the same slot.

In order for that to happen, you need haste. Once you have a full stack of serendipty and 20% haste, your Prayer of Healing will be hitting 1.7 - 1.6 second cast times as will your Greater Heal (Untalented). If you talent for Greater Heal (most holy priests do now) you can hit 1.2 - 1.1 second cast times.

Haste Rating is a good stat for Rogues that increases the frequency of your auto attacks. Generally Haste Rating is a weaker stat at lower gear levels and a relatively stronger stat at higher gear levels. For a Level 80 Rogue: 32.78 Haste Rating = 1% more auto attacks.

Haste increases attack speed and reduces the cast time of spells. Haste stacks in a multiplicative manner. This means that it is beneficial to stack multiple haste effects. For instance, stacking Slice and Dice with Blade Flurry(Rogue abilities) gives a total of 68% haste (140% * 120% = 168% of the base attack speed).

You will generally want to aim just to get as much Haste rating as possible; however, past 30% Haste, Critical Strike, or Versatility, these stats do start to take on Diminishing Return values. This starts at 19% for Mastery.
